OPE, GANGAN and OMI Rugs
Designed by Yinka Ilori, our bright and colourful rugs are hand-knotted in Nepal by a family-run collective.
We use Tibetan wool, sourced from Himalayan sheep in Tibet as the primary material in all our rugs. Once gathered, the raw wool is hand-sorted and washed to remove impurities then spun into a fine yarn. These yarns are expertly dyed in-house using high-quality Swiss dyes, producing vibrant, kaleidoscopic colours free from harmful chemicals.
Our rugs are woven on large looms that can be altered to accommodate custom sizes. Cotton threads are vertically warped around each loom, providing a strong foundation for the making stage. Each strand of yarn is knotted around cotton threads stretched horizontally and vertically across the frames.
After the rug is woven and taken off the loom, the face is trimmed with cutting machines to ensure the surface is level.
The in-house washing plant facilitates the entire cleaning process. Each rug is hand-washed using eco soap and spring water, providing a natural shine.
As water is a precious source, nothing is left to waste. To prevent excessive use of water during the dry season, the facility is equipped to collect rainwater where it is filtered and stored for later use.
The rugs are individually air-dried on bamboo racks and thoroughly quality-checked before dispatch. All rugs are packed in eco-friendly materials, ready for their journey.
