Beacon of Dreams
Soho Farmhouse x Porsche

‘Beacon of Dreams’ is an installation embedded in the
natural landscape of Soho Farmhouse which offers visitors a scarce
and valuable moment of pause and reflection and acts as a beacon to
encourage dreams.
The monolithic shell-like structure has been inspired by childhood memories of visiting the British seaside, where Ilori would hold a shell to his ear and listen to the sounds of the ocean, as well as more recent explorations of mindfulness. Devoid of any colour on the exterior, a major departure for the artist, the sculpture is split down the middle, inviting visitors to enter and inhabit its internal space where a kaleidoscopic array of colours and a bespoke soundscape facilitates introspection and encourages a deeper connection with the inner dreams that nourish and sustain us and the joy that radiates from within. The installation is accompanied by a bespoke soundscape titled ’N’be Sib La’ or ‘I am dreaming’ in the Mandinka language of Senegal and Gambia. It was created by Balimaya Project and is dedicated to the power and possibility of dreams and the anchor of reality.
