The Conran Shop returns to London Craft Week with an electrifying alliance with LG Electronics and Yinka Ilori. The exclusive collaboration will highlight the brand’s newest outdoor arrivals by blending a brigade of LG’s most-advanced OLED evo televisions with the magical touch of Yinka Ilori’s distinctive palette, which will take over both Chelsea and Marylebone windows.

The collaboration of colour and craft has been in the works for a while; The Conran Shop established its Korean foundations in 2019 with the launch of its award-winning store in the Gangnam district of Seoul, unveiling its biggest retail location to date. LG hails from Seoul, and its global reach has blossomed particularly in the UK as of late, proving the perfect time for this intercontinental partnership; and who better to represent a borderless vision than Yinka Ilori.

Ilori’s bold visual language draws on his British-Nigerian heritage to convey new narratives through con- temporary design and craft. Following considerable research into the meaning, emotions, symbolism, and mythology of the eyes, Ilori will present a captivating installation titled ‘Forest of Eyes.’ Each window will host LG OLED evo TV screens nestled within eye-shaped timber boxes. Inspired by the blossoming of a flower, the eyes will feature bright, colourful gradients and forms, animated in dynamic ways - a first for the artist and de- signer. A mirrored floor and an abundance of other smaller timber eyes will be displayed across both installations to further enhance the forest feel.

Ilori’s utopian forest will move away from the hues found in nature and instead use a vivid colour palette and playful graphics to represent a newfound hope and optimism for the future, following two years of the global pandemic. The kaleidoscope of colour will be perfectly in tune with the themes of imagination, individuality, and passion celebrated at London Craft Week.
