Cubitts teamed up with renowned creatives for a unique charity spectacles auction in partnership with Create, the UK’s leading creative arts charity.

The auction will showcased nine extraordinary spectacle frames, each meticulously designed by a renowned creative practitioner and handcrafted at Cubitts’ King’s Cross workshop.

The participating designers, originating from diverse fields such as industrial design, set design, fashion, and fine art, have reimagined the traditional spectacle frame with their distinctive artistic visions. Each frame explores innovative concepts, including secondary functions, anthropomorphic elements, personal allusions, unconventional materials, and experimental techniques, offering a fresh and imaginative take on the humble pair of spectacles.

This exclusive collection not only highlights the creative talent of its designers but also supports Create's mission to empower lives through the creative arts.

The auction featured frames designed in collaboration with:

Shona Heath, Laxmi Hussain, Yinka Ilori, David Shrigley, Jaimus Tailor, Erica Toogood, Faye Toogood, Daniel Weil nd Wilfrid Wood.

Yinka Ilori MBE said:

" I'm thrilled to partner with Cubitts for its charity auction as a part
of the London Design Festival. My sunglasses were inspired by the calabash, which is an essential object to everyday life in Nigeria due
to its versatility. Once dried, it can be used for many different purposes like musical instruments, vessels, baskets, fishing, decorative objects, and more. The shape of the frame was modelled after what it looks

like to cut through a calabash. You'll also see floral ornaments and my signature pops of colour featured, which make them truly fun and unique."
